This March is a very exciting month for me. I'm finally getting a DSLR! At this point, I can choose any manufacturer because I don't have any lenses. There are two cameras that I am almost positive that I'm going with the Canon 40D. I thought about the new Nikon D300, but I don't want to shell out the kind of dough for the camera and then get a couple of lenses too. With the Canon 40D, I'll be able to get all the extras I want: A telephoto lens, a speedlite (430 or 580 EX), a diffuser, an extra battery, and maybe more. Here is the dpreview article for the Canon 40D: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos40d/ And here is the comparison of the two: http://www.popphoto.com/cameras/5062/nikon-d300-vs-canon-eos-40d-a-hands-on-workout.html I can't wait to purchase whichever one I choose. I'm still looking at everything. I got burned when I bought the Canon G7 just 4 weeks before the G9 came out. The G7 doesn't have RAW.
Happy Shooting! ~The Muse
